Early Registration Now Open – 2nd Annual LIA Leaders Forum

On April 16, 2012 the Latinos in Agriculture Leaders Forum Planning Committee met in San Antonio, Texas to prepare for the planning of the 2nd Annual Latinos in Agriculture Leaders Forum. The forum will be on October 17-19, 2012 and held at the El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel. Early registration for the event is now open and will close September 7, 2012. Early registration is $350 so save $75 by registering early. The forum will be capped at 150 attendees and we anticipate that this year will be full so don’t wait to register. The warm reception and involvement by many who attended last year and the calls we have been receiving gives us the indication that the 2nd Annual Latinos in Agriculture Leaders Forum is building to be another great event.

We would like to thank Aurelio Curbelo, Iowa State University; Dr. Adalberto Perez de Leon, Agricultural Research Service, USDA; Ruby de La Garza, Hispanic-Serving Institutions National Program, USDA; Ruben Flores, Colorado State University; Dr. Maria Gutierrez, Texas A&M; Lili Alonzo, Iowa Select Farms; Joe McDonald, Elanco; and Randy Breitling, Capital Farm Credit for their support. Their input and work is much appreciated! Also in attendance were co-founders of the Latinos in Agriculture Leaders Forum, Orlando J. Gil Vivas, TCTS Global, LLC and Dr. Edward Romero, AgForLife, LLC.

The agenda will be posted soon as well as the speaker information so keep checking the site to stay up to date. If you have not already subscribed to LIA updates on the website, you may want to consider doing so to stay informed when we post an update on the website blog page. All you have to do is look to the right side of the website, type your email, and click “subscribe” and you are set.
