Dr. Aury M. Curbelo is a Professor of Office Administration and Information Systems in the College of Business Administration at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. She has taught courses in the disciplines of business, agriculture, and education at University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez for over 10 years.
For the last few years she has offered workshops for faculty in areas such as Ethics Across the Curriculum (EAC), Ethical Hacking, Social Network Security, Social Engineering, Information Security System, and Business Continuity. In addition, she has conducted research in the areas of Information Security, Ethics in Digital Photo Manipulation, and Social Engineering: the human side of hacking.
She hosted a column in a Security Blog called “Human Wall” and also wrote several articles for the electronic magazine “ B:Secure” in Mexico. Dr. Curbelo has the following accreditations: 1) Certified Ethical Hacker, 2) Certified Forensic Investigator, 3) Certified Master Network Professional, and 4) Security Plus. She is also an active member of InfraGard (InfraGard is an association of businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States.
Dr. Curbelo is a 2010 FBI Citizen Academy graduate.
