Sandra Cortez

Sandra Cortez currently works with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Hispanic-Serving Institutions National Program Office (HSINP).  The USDA-HSINP office promotes the continued growth of Hispanic enrollment in Higher Education. We accomplish this mission through strategic partnerships with colleges and universities across the country. As the USDA-HSI National Student Program Manager, Sandra works closely with students and managers to ensure that opportunities are both available and provide a professional development experience.  Prior to USDA, Sandra served as Director of the HACU National Internship Program which is a program that allows college students to experience the diversity of careers that exist in the federal and corporate sectors.

Ms. Cortez received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland College Park and her Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from George Washington University.
